Beauty is………

January 8, 2009

Courage…
No pretensions…
Confidence….
The smell of jasmine on a moonlit night…
Life……
Passion..
Experience……
Possessing a beautiful soul…..
Sensitivity……
Courteousness……
Charm……
Dignified…….
The colours of a rainbow…….
A bud that has not yet blossomed……
A child gazing enraptured at a butterfly…….
The colour of kites in the Delhi sky…….
A baby’s gurgling laugh….
The courage of a mother when she lets go of her child’s hand on the very first day of school…
The heartache of a mother and the pride of a father when their son shaves the first time…
A father’s expression torn between delight, pride and dilemna when he realizes his son has started earning….maybe more than him..:)………
The birth of a granddaughter , whom nana, nani and dada, dadi coo over….like first-time parents all over again……
A painting that speaks to you…..
A book you can’t forget…
A song you always hum……..
brains………..:)
The laugh lines on a beloved face….
The quiet dignity of a woman who looks dazzling at 60….
The way mom laughs at jokes…..
The coffee -honey coloured skin that needs no makeup…
The first shower of monsoons…
The breeze blowing through the trees…
The smell of sun scorched earth drenched on a rainy day….
A poem that makes you cry….
A starry winter night….
Watching a sunrise in solitude……
Meeting a friend after years and yet it seems like only yesterday…
The connection between total strangers who have a language all their own……
The bond between an animal and a human……….
Discovering your parents all over again…….
The realization that you want to be as good a parent as your own……
Discovering your roots……
Listening to your soul sometimes……
A movie with ma after bunking college..
A mother’s surprise on seeing her daughter wear a saree for the first time…
The delight on your parents face when you made tea for the very first time…
A hard earned victory……
The spirit of sportsmanship…….
A tender heart…….
Morning dew on the grass……
Wild flowers growing under a tree……..
Your son’s first painting…….
Your daughter’s first prize…….
A father’s love,quiet and unspoken…
A mother’s worries for her children that seem to last for a lifetime….…:)
The helping hands of a stranger …
A veiled face on a dusty village road…
Asymmetry……:)
A sleeping child…
Artistic,long hands…..
An old wooden chair….
In the heart….
A mischievious look…
A quiet embrace…
An unspoken glance….
Unconditional love…
A spontaneous gesture…
A shy smile….
The Red Fort on a foggy winter morning..:)
Seeing your best friend start a new life……
The kindness of a stranger….
An unexpected friendship….
Dancing your heart out..
Remembering a forgotten song…
The touch of a loved one….
The chirping of birds…
A glorious morning….
In the realization that you miss home as you sit in a strange land…………
The stunned joy on a mother’s face when her daughter becomes a mother…..
An icecream on a summer’s day….
A ‘Kulhad’ chai with ma……
A train journey seen through a child’s eyes…
A warm hug from a friend….
A compliment that you can live on forever from a stranger….
The glow of a mom-to-be….
The way a father holds his first born in his hands….afraid to touch…wanting to hold…
A mother watching her children sleep…
Discovering friends in a strange land….
A golden sunset seen with loved ones…
Natural curves and a beautiful attitude….

Just being you…

And by N
When Dad hugs you a little longer and then suddenly lets go, to hide the tears when you leave his nest to create your own… 😦

This line , a beautiful line that goes straight to my heart has been written by N…She has expressed so much in this one line…..so much…It’ll take a daughter and a father to understand……:)

PS-Please do feel free to add anything you find beauty in…..:)…the way N has written it so touchingly….:)

And beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. If you are happy and lucky you see it …

If you are Creative you also make your blog-readers see it …

Only yesterday, while writing that post on Viragoes and Shrews, I was thinking why is it that we have such fixed ideas of beauty.

So let me add one more line 🙂

Beauty is … this lovely post by Indyeah 🙂
