Words….

February 19, 2009
tags:

Some sprinkle words like fairy dust…turning all things magical……

Some use words like a bureaucrat…using only that which is required…

Some give new meaning to them….showing you a different side to the story….

Some throw it upon you like so much filth…like garbage that has turned rotten…

Some weave a spell………beckon you into a world that is so beautiful…

Some invite you to share in their passion …….words breathing fire and burning all evil…….

Some words are a gentle tap on your shoulders,as you turn around, there is a stranger who seems oh so familiar….

Some chant spells and charm you in ,even as you yearn to understand all that has been said…..

Some remind you gently of beautiful lessons forgotten ….and of things unseen…..

Some who tell a whole story of memories left behind…..and of a future that’s just visible..

Some words make dreams come true….dreams you never even knew..

Some force you to stop and ponder…..seeing all that’s visible and more….

Some who lay bare their souls ….so honestly and with nary a care……

Some whose words are searing and burn all in their path..

Some who seem incomprehensible because they are from a different world..

Some words are frivolous, treating you with disdain……

Some speak from the heart and you are charmed to the core…

Some who fight your battles for you just as you have given up hope….

Some who speak in pain and of a future uncertain……

Some who guide you gently…on to the right path…

Sometimes just listen……sit down..take a deep breath and listen….listen to what I am trying to say…..strain your ears to hear the sounds that don’t come out of me…silence is healing…silence is golden..silence is spiritual ….silence is a balm for my soul…can you not hear all that I yearn to tell you?Such emotions churning inside…..why can’t you speak my language? How can you not understand what my silence says?

“Words are alive; cut them and they bleed.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Words can heal or words can hurt….use them with care…

First in a random series on the effect of words (or their absence)in our life…

    Words.. are everything!

And they are nothing.. it depends on who is using it.. and how 🙂

And silence.. acc to me is not golden.. for when silence speaks.. not many listen..

Everyone wants to speak and no one wants to listen, that is why you hear the din all around you all the time.

Words, chosen with care and listened to with as much care again, are more potent than any other medicine. beautiful post, Indyeah.

Chirag:-yes….seen in that context it indeed is…this is what I meant when I said earlier that words can soothe, can heal…and also have the power/capability to make one’s blood boil…this is why words are something that should be used really really responsibly…and not just thrown about without having any knowledge of their meaning…

Vishesh:-‘I’ indeed is..:)…but what kind of a word?:))

and how are the exam preparations going on kiddo?:))

Read it twice and my state is like, “Some chant spells and charm you in ,even as you yearn to understand all that has been said…..”. Words are but an expression of one’s thoughts. I was reading your words to get to your thoughts when you wrote them. Very, very beautifully put across.

“If you cannot understand my silence, you can never understand my words”

So said someone, I forget who.. 🙂 And that has been a source of great inspiration, and comfort a lot of times 🙂

What you have captured in this lyrical, lilting paean to words and silences is just this:
You understand both well, and can strum the chords with both 🙂 🙂

This was so beautifully poetic too, that I wish I had more than words to tell you, how much it moves! A marvel of a thought and construct and expression!
